FAQ - VOW Reloaded
1. What is VOW Reloaded?
VOW Reloaded is the resurrection of the probably best-known
and most successful online war in the history of IL2.
Special thanks to the creators of the original VOW: JG51_Hesse,
I/JG27_Zimmi, JG51_Ramstein, JG51_Knappe,
JG51_Atze , III/JG53_Frankyboy , ZF_Malteser
and all the rest whom I might have forgotten to mention here.
This would not have been possible without your work!
In VOW Reloaded, axis and allied forces compete in small
coop missions on three fronts
(eastern front, western front, and in the pacific).
VOW Reloaded has a statistic page that shows multiple statistics:
a. pilot statistics,
b. squadron statistics,
c. axis/allied statistics and,
d. the countries in which the pilots live.
2. What version of the game will be used?
In VOW Reloaded, games will be hosted exclusively with version 4.09 without any mods.
Should any host break this rule, the permission to host games will be revoked.
The same applies to players who are using a different version of the game.
3. How do I become a host for VOW Reloaded?
As soon as VOW Reloaded’s internet presence is launched,
you may apply to be a host via the pilot menu.
It is the admin’s decision whether your application is accepted or not.
The minimum are 20 flown Missions as Pilot
and a Account that is longer activ than 2 Weeks!
4. Where do I get the missions that I can host?
As soon as you are registered as a host,
you can download the available missions via the pilot menu.
Please note that the following applies to VOW Reloaded:
Sometimes, there will be no missions available for certain fronts to download
either because there were no battles taking place on these fronts at the time
or because the missions have yet to be entered into the mission pool.
5. Which settings will be used in VOW Reloaded?
For VOW Reloaded, only full real settings with speedbar enabled will be flown.
6. Can I create Missions for VOW Reloaded?
Yes, of course. However, there are a few criteria that have to be fulfilled:
- both sides must have a mission goal,
- both sides must be able to reach their targets at the same time,
- the briefing must be in English and separated for each side,
- no fantasy planesets, please use historically-correct planesets, and
- please write a short description regarding which front and during
which time period the mission takes place. Send your mission to Admin@vowreloaded.de.
7. Is there a dedicated VOW Reloaded Teamspeak server?
Yes, this time as well there will be a Teamspeak server
where pilots of VOW Reloaded can talk with one-another.
You will be able to find the required login information
in the forum or via the pilotmenu on the VOW website.
8. What should I do if there are problems in a mission (cheating, the use of mods, etc.)?
You should first try to solve the problem with the
pilot or pilots in a friendly way.
If this doesn’t solve the problem,
you may call upon the VOW Reloaded court to handle the problem.
9. Is there a minimum number of players for a mission?
Yes, the hosts are asked not to start a mission
before there are four players present on each side.
10. Where do pilots meet?
In general, pilots meet in the hyperlobby (http://hyperfighter.sk/).
Please do not use the multiplayer button to log in directly.
You may join this way only if there are problems and you are not able to join otherwise,
or if you have to join a mission that has already begun.
There is also a way to log in afterwards through the hyperlobby by typing ‘//join playername’.
11. Hyperlobby
Since the 16.04.2010 we have 2 Rooms
with 6 Missionsslots in the hyperlobby.
Please use that section only.
12. Bombermissions
There are a few missions in VOW Reloaded where you can fly bombers only.
These missions have to been flown as well even though you might prefer to fly a fighter.
13. Freelance Squadron (Red & Blue)
For players without squadron
or who might want to fly on the other side as well
two squadrons of freelancers (Red & Blue) have been created.
Just create yourself a 2nd account and apply to the other side.
14. Slots in the hyperlobby
In general each mission has a minimum of eight controlable planes per side.
Generally the first eight slots are for the side the host is playing on (Axis/Allies).
The ones below are for the other side.
This way the host has a better overview over all players.
15. Empty Squadrons
Squadrons without an CO or any Pilot
will be deleted after 1 Week after registration
16. Unconstitutional content etc.
We explicitly prohibit to write something with racist, pornographic,
inhumane, unconstitutional or otherwise immoral content. Posts with
such content will be deleted or corrected without further notice.
Should a squadron use illegal symbols (e.g. Swastika) they
will be excluded from the game without further notice.
Since this game is hosted in Germany the german law applies.
17. Rules for hosting a mission
It is not allowed to kick a player from the slot in the hyperlobby
without a reason because you want a friend or squadronmember to use
it. Please contact the player (e.g. the hyperlobby pager) and ask
him to leave. If he doesn't leave it is your problem and if you
repeatedly kick a player your permission to host games can be denied.
18. Rules
It is forbidden
- to leave a game after you have been killed before your plane has
crashed on the ground.
- to leave a game after you ejected before your plane has
crashed on the ground.
- to stay ingame if you have been killed or bailed out.
- to start new dogfights after the mission has ended. If you read
Blue won / Red won you should return to base asap.
- to use navigation lights or tracers to call for help or to draw
someone's attention to you.
- to shoot at a starting/landing aircraft or at a standing/rolling aircraft on the ground (vulching)!
- to shoot on parachutes
19. Host
In the case that the Host of the
Mission must/will land before the Missions end , please use this procedure :
- search for a Airfield (own)
- land your plane
- shut the engine off
- wait short than bail from the Aircraft
The Mission will counted for the host as safe landed.
20. Spoken / written Language on VOW Reloaded Site
For all ,
please remember that you post your Comments ,
and other Text (Courthearing etc.) only in english (or german).
All other Languages can´t be understood !
Thx!
21. Hosted Fronts
All Host´s are dependent to host Missions
from all available Fronts , and not only host 1 or 2 favorite Front.
Should the Rule repeatedly broken ,
the Hostpermission will be revoked.
Sorry that must be ,
the VOW Reloaded lives by the variety!
22. Markings at the VOW Reloaded
In VOW Reloaded is it Duty
to fly at all time with the Standard Markings.
Cause without them unwanted friendly kills could happen.
